Jacob Cap

            Eager though he was to see Addie, Jacob paused briefly before entering their home so he could check his reflection in the glass of a window.  They'd been married a while now, but sometimes he still felt like a nervous bridegroom when approaching his beautiful wife.  He'd just made sure everything was still straight and tidy when he heard a soft voice ask, "Ready to come inside, dearest?"
            He turned and there she was: the woman he loved more than all else in life.  He grinned sheepishly.  "I was just making sure I look respectable."
            "Oh, you do, love.  But you know…"  She reached up and drew off his cap.  She placed it playfully on her own head then slowly, sweetly ran her soft fingers through his hair.  "I can always change that for you, if you like."
